Master Pod Guide | Pod 0 Setup & Reliability
What is the master pod in the system? Why is the master pod required for the system to work? What happens if the master pod is turned off or removed? How do I assign a new master pod? Why must there always be a “pod 0” in the system? Where should I place the master pod during drills? How does the position of the master pod affect communication? What is the best placement for the master pod when pods are spread out over a large area?
The master pod acts as the central hub that connects the application to all the other pods. Without a master pod, the system cannot function because the other pods rely on it to communicate with the app.
If the master pod is turned off or removed, the system will lose communication, and you’ll need to re-set it up so that a new master can be assigned. In other words, there must always be a “pod 0” for the system to work.
When running drills where the pods are spread out over a larger area—for example, using gates positioned far apart—it’s best to place the master pod somewhere near the center. This helps ensure stable communication between the app and all the pods, keeping distances more balanced and reliable.
To create a new master pod, you’ll need to go through the pod setup process again:
